Police search for 18-year-old who stabbed teenager and woman to death in Kansas

JOHNSON COUNTY – Law enforcement is investigating a stabbing that left a teenager hospitalized and is searching for a suspect.

Shortly after noon Saturday, police responded to an armed confrontation in the 5200 block of Barton Drive in the city of Shawnee, a news release said.

Officers found that a suspect had stabbed a 17-year-old boy and an adult woman. The teenager was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The adult woman suffered minor injuries.

Officers are currently actively searching for an 18-year-old male who detectives have identified. The Shawnee Fire Department and Johnson County MED-ACT also responded to the incident.
