Fairfax County Police Investigate Body Found in Springfield

FAIRFAX, Virginia – Fairfax County police are investigating the death of a Springfield woman. Fayra Desiree Bonilla-Rubi, 26, was found near a wooded area Friday evening.

Police were called to the 7600 block of Highland Street in Springfield after being alerted to Bonilla-Rubi’s body by a community member. Her family reported her missing earlier this week on Monday.

Investigators on the case are trying to determine the circumstances of her death. In the meantime, a medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Bonilla-Rubi’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral expenses and bury her in her home country of Honduras. The account has already surpassed 50% of its $20,000 goal. If you would like to donate, click here.
