Kokomo Police Assist in Detaining and Arresting Man Wanted for Murder in Oklahoma

KOKOMO, Indiana – Kokomo police arrested a man wanted by Oklahoma authorities on Wednesday morning for murder and other crimes.

Kokomo Police officers executed a search warrant in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, shortly after 10 a.m. at a residence in the 1100 block of E. Taylor Street as part of a joint investigation to locate and arrest Demarcus Williams, 31, of Granada, Mississippi.


KPD said its detectives worked with U.S. Marshals from Indiana and Oklahoma to find and arrest Williams, who had a warrant out for his arrest for murder, conspiracy and robbery with a dangerous weapon. KPD’s SWAT team and negotiation team were also on scene to assist.

Williams was arrested without incident and taken to the Howard County Criminal Justice Center, where he will be extradited to Oklahoma.

KPD was assisted on scene by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations.
