A man is killed in a car accident in McAllen and a power outage occurs

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident that occurred early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the driver of a car was traveling south on Bicentennial Boulevard in the 4100 block of North Bicentennial Boulevard around 3 a.m. when it left the roadway and struck a cinder block wall, parking the vehicle and then a Light pole damaged.


The driver, identified as Dominik Alvarado, 21, of Hidalgo, died at the scene. A passenger, also a 21-year-old man, was transported to an area hospital.

A truck crashed into a concrete barrier at the International Museum of Arts and Science in McAllen on Wednesday morning.

The crash also caused power outages for about 1,000 AEP customers in the area. The power supply has now been restored.

The justice of the peace has ordered an autopsy. The police are investigating this accident.
