Investigation underway after man dies in Milford police custody – NBC Connecticut

The death of a man in police custody in Milford is under investigation.

According to Milford police, officers found Michael Brown shortly after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Big Y on Boston Post Road.

Brown was being investigated on several warrants and was also a suspect in a recent theft at another Milford grocery store, police said.

Officers took Brown into custody. After he was handcuffed, he appeared to have a medical issue, according to police.

An emergency crew arrived at the scene. While they were treating Brown, his condition worsened. He was given Narcan and taken to Milford Hospital, police said.

When Brown arrived at the hospital, he was pronounced dead.

The Office of the Inspector General took over the investigation.
