Torrey Chase Apartments Now Offering Low-Income Rental Options in North Houston

A grand opening was held for the Torrey Chase Apartments, according to a May 2 news release. The 280-unit complex offers one- and two-bedroom apartments for rent to residents earning 60 percent or less of the area median income.

Torrey Chase Apartments offers amenities such as a dog park, multi-acre walking park, swimming pool, entertainment area and play area, according to the release.

“We have 40,000 people on our waiting list,” David A. Northern, Sr., president of the Houston Housing Authority, said via the release. “We couldn’t do it alone. We need highly affordable options in our city, and this partnership allows us to provide quality housing for local families. We want to continue to bring more properties like this to our city.

The development is the result of a collaboration between MLC Development and principals from Westmont Hospitality Group, STOA Architects and DC Partners, according to the release. The project was also developed under the HHA’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, according to a May 2 email from a project spokesperson.
