Man arrested after allegedly stabbing victim with knife

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Wichita Falls police arrested a man Saturday on charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence with a weapon, as well as other charges.

Donald Barker, 61, was accused of attacking a woman with a knife. Police responded to the 1400 block of N Seventh Street around 11:45 p.m. on June 1 to investigate the incident.

Upon arrival, officers found the female victim hiding in the bathroom from Barker as he became violent that night. Barker entered the bathroom with a large kitchen knife and slashed at the victim’s neck, at one point forcibly pressing the weapon to her throat.

Barker told the woman, “B****, you’re dying tonight,” and held her by the neck during the incident. The victim told officers she was in pain and feared for her life.

The victim had a cut on her neck. After the incident, she filed for a restraining order against Barker.

When Barker was arrested for aggravated assault, police found a plastic bag containing 0.211 ounces of marijuana in his right front pocket. For this reason, he was also charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. He remains in the Wichita County Jail on a total of $50,500 bail for both charges.
