6 people injured in accident | News

ENID, Oklahoma – Six people were possibly injured in a one-car crash at the corner of Van Buren and Maine on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

According to an Enid police report, the accident occurred at 9:28 p.m. on Tuesday.

Matthew Jainese, 18, of Nash, was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck south on Van Buren when his passenger tires struck the curb, causing him to swerve to the left and then right, the report said. The pickup truck left the road and struck a light pole. The pole then fell onto a parked vehicle, shattering the windshield.

Jainese and five of his six passengers were taken to hospital for treatment, four of them by private vehicle and two by ambulance. All of the injuries were non-disabling, according to the report.

The report shows a summons number for Jainese and lists the unsafe/unlawful contributing factors as “other/unknown.”
