The film’s official social media account responded to the discussion surrounding the casting of Wake Up Dead Man. “OK, everyone calm down,” the account said.

O’Connor played Prince Charles in the Netflix series The Crown and recently appeared in director Luca Guadagnino’s tennis film Challengers. Spaeny, meanwhile, recently played the title character in Sofia Coppola’s film Priscilla. She also starred in Alex Garland’s Civil War and is expected to appear in the next Alien film, Alien: Romulus.

Very little is known about Wake Up Dead Man yet, but it will be another whodunnit crime thriller from Johnson, and it is being produced for Netflix. The Knives Out films are known for their ensemble casts, so O’Connor and Spaeny are just two members of the cast we know so far. Craig plays detective Benoit Blanc, and he is the only main character to return in each new installment, as he is called back to solve another high-stakes crime mystery.

The 2019 film “Knives Out” starred Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell and Christopher Plummer. The 2021 sequel, “Glass Onion,” starred Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Jessica Henwick and Leslie Odom Jr.

Knives Out was released theatrically, but Netflix stepped in and paid Johnson and Craig $100 million each to release Knives Out sequels on the streaming platform. Netflix is said to have paid around $470 million for the sequels, which is more than the estimated market value. One report claims that Netflix intentionally overpaid for the sequels to take market share away from theaters.

“Wake Up Dead Man” is coming to Netflix in 2025.
