The daughters of Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali remember a traumatic incident

The two were taken hostage and kidnapped by their domestic help in Mumbai as children. Aaliyah recalled how the woman put duct tape over their mouths and tied their hands to a chair during the robbery as the girls freaked out.

Aaliyah Kashyap said that at that time they both lived in the same building and since their parents went out together, the children were in Anurag Kashyap’s house and were supervised by Aaliyah’s maternal grandmother. The household staff locked her grandmother in a room and tied her up to steal money and jewellery from the house.

However, the girls were saved because Aaliyah’s mother came home just 15 minutes after the incident began because she had forgotten something in the house and surprised them.
