First alarm forecast:

JACKSON, Mississippi (WLBT) – Pleasant conditions will remain overnight as temperatures drop to 65 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

THURSDAY: Thursday will be another sunny, dry day as our forecast continues to be under high pressure. Temperatures tomorrow afternoon are expected to be a little warmer, reaching just over 35 degrees, which is still almost normal for mid-June.

EXTENDED FORECAST: A ridge of high pressure will strengthen over the area through Father’s Day weekend, bringing even hotter weather across the region. Saturday will likely be the hottest day of the weekend with highs between 35 and 38 degrees. Some locations could see the first day of the year with triple-digit temperatures. By next week, the heat should subside as Gulf moisture spreads over the area. Expect more opportunities for scattered showers and thunderstorms during this time.
