Minor arrested on warrant for multiple weapons offenses in Santa Rosa

(KRON) – According to Santa Rosa Police, a minor and an adult were arrested at a park after police witnessed firearms being used.

Officers with the Santa Rosa Special Enforcement Team (SET) were patrolling Andy’s Unity Park around 5:03 p.m. on Saturday. Officers spotted several people standing near a parked vehicle in the northwest part of the park. Police said they observed one of the people remove a concealed firearm from his waistband and place it in the car.

After arresting the two, officers discovered a loaded Poly-80 pistol with a 33-round magazine. According to police, the weapon was loaded, with one 9mm cartridge in the barrel and 29 additional 9mm cartridges in the magazine. The suspect carrying the weapon was a minor, Santa Rosa police said.

The minor was arrested and booked into the juvenile hall. The juvenile was charged with carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of ammunition, possession of a concealed handgun, and possession of a concealed handgun. The juvenile also had a warrant out of Mendocino County for his arrest.

One of the suspects was identified as Santa Rosa resident Eligio Reynoso-Hernandez. Police said Reynoso-Hernandez was carrying a knife, which was a violation of his probation. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Adult Main Detention Center.
