Police: Gulfport man admits raping minor

A man on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is behind bars for raping a minor.

Gulfport Police officers on Monday charged 25-year-old Decruis Furre Tatum in connection with a sexual assault call involving a minor just a week earlier.

During a law enforcement investigation, it was determined that Tatum had sexual relations with the minor.

Tatum turned himself in to police and accepted responsibility for his reported actions. He is charged with capital rape and was taken to the Harrison County Adult Jail where he is being held in lieu of his $500,000 bond.
