Bicyclist killed by teen driver in Tippecanoe County

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a teenage driver in Tippecanoe County on Friday evening.

According to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a personal injury accident in the 6300 block of State Road 26 West at 11:58 p.m. Friday. Rescue workers found a male cyclist who had been struck and killed.


The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2005 Toyota Forerunner, driven by a male juvenile, was traveling eastbound when it struck a bicyclist traveling westbound.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The coroner will reveal the identity of the victim.

The road was closed for approximately 4 hours.
