British tourist victim of gang rape after music festival in Paris: police

A British tourist is believed to have been gang raped on a Paris street over the weekend after partying at a music festival. The incident is believed to have been captured on video, police said.

The victim was found crying and clutching her underwear after leaving the Olympia concert hall in the French city’s 9th arrondissement in the early hours of Saturday, local news portal Le Figaro reported.

The distraught woman, who was taken to a nearby hospital, told investigators that a group of men dragged her to a remote location and sexually abused her.

She said her sick attackers then stole her phone and fled.

Investigators are now checking whether the men may have filmed the horror attack.

“She was returning from a concert at the Olympia music venue and said she was approached by a group of men,” a police source told the outlet.

“They surrounded them and attacked them. There are fears that they recorded their actions on their mobile phones.”

The woman had been in the hospital since Monday and was being examined.

No arrests have been made so far.

Due to French law, authorities have not released any further information about the victim, including his age.

Her attack was one of several that occurred during the Fête de la Musique, a nationally celebrated festival.

Five teenage girls, aged 13 to 17, were injected with a mysterious substance while celebrating another event in the Saint-Maur-des-Fossés district of Paris.

The victims in this case, who witnesses said were feeling nauseous and dizzy, alerted police after feeling stab pains in their arms.

The rape came a week after a 12-year-old Jewish girl was gang raped in Paris, with police describing the incident as a sickening anti-Semitic attack.

Three French boys were later arrested in connection with the attack.
