Police arrest pro-Palestinian protesters in New York

STORY: A man who claimed to be a freelance journalist was arrested by police. CBS News reported that several arrests were made.

The report added that the protesters, who started at Union Square, made their way to the FIT campus to gather around an encampment while being closely followed by police.

The incident came amid dozens of protests against Israel’s election campaign in Gaza on campuses across the country where police have arrested more than 2,000 people, a political flashpoint in a contentious U.S. election year for the Democratic presidentIdent Joe Biden seeks a second term.
