Biden created an atmosphere that provoked an attack on Trump: Russia

Russia on Sunday condemned the “violence in politics” following the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump and accused the current administration under Joe Biden of creating an atmosphere that provoked the attack.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that while Russia does not believe that the current US administration was responsible for the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, it had created an atmosphere that provoked the attack.

“We do not believe that the attempt to eliminate and assassinate Trump was organized by the current authorities,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

“But the atmosphere around candidate Trump … provoked what America is facing today,” he added.

“After numerous attempts to remove candidate Trump from the political arena – using legal means, the courts, prosecutors, using attempts to politically discredit and compromise the candidate – it was obvious to everyone outside that his life was in danger,” he continued.

Moscow also called on the US to “take stock” of its “policy of inciting hatred” and used the attack on the former president to denounce its support for Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova addressed “those in the United States who vote for arms supplies to Kiev” and condemned Kiev’s support. According to her, the country is “fomenting attacks against the Russian president.”

She added: “Perhaps it would be better to use this money to fund American police and other services designed to maintain law and order in the United States?”

Trump was evacuated to a safe location after gunshots were heard in the crowd during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

According to a White House spokesman, the suspect and at least one attendee were killed, while two others were injured. Trump was visibly bleeding from his right ear as he was carried off the stage. He later said he was “fine” and was being checked out.
