Former Boston police union president convicted of involvement in overtime scandal

A judge sentenced a former Boston police officer to two years of probation for his role in a massive overtime fraud scandal. From at least January 2015 to February 2019, 67-year-old Thomas Nee submitted false and fraudulent overtime reports to the evidence warehouse for “purge” and “kiosk” overtime he did not work, investigators said. Nee must also repay about $16,642 he collected for overtime not worked. Nee is the former president of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, the city’s largest police union.

From at least January 2015 through February 2019, 67-year-old Thomas Nee submitted false and fraudulent overtime reports for “cleaning” and “kiosk” overtime he did not work at the evidence warehouse, investigators said.

Nee must also repay approximately $16,642 in overtime pay he received.

Nee is the former president of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, the city’s largest police union.
