Kansas man dies in work accident

ATCHISON COUNTY – Authorities are investigating a fatal industrial accident in northeast Kansas.

Shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, police, fire and emergency medical services responded to a report of a workplace accident at Shannon Industrial Park on Atchison’s west side, according to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.

Gerald Weidler, 30, of Atchison, died in an industrial accident at Atchison Tubular Manufacturing, 8154 Industrial Park Lane.

The company manufactures steel tubing products. The company is not taking calls and law enforcement did not provide further details early Tuesday.
