Ontario to revoke convicted car thieves’ driver’s licenses for at least 10 years – Winnipeg Free Press

TORONTO – Ontario says it will revoke driver’s licenses for at least 10 years for those convicted of car theft.

Transport Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria said those convicted three times of car theft would have their driving licenses revoked for life.

Sarkaria said the province is also imposing stricter penalties, including a one-year driver’s license suspension, for those convicted of stunt driving.

These penalties also increase for the second and third convictions.

According to Sarkaria, a car is stolen every 14 minutes in the province.
