Markesan police warn residents after sighting of black bear

MARKESAN, Wis. (WBAY) – Markesan Police are warning residents after receiving multiple reports of black bear sightings in the area.

June is roughly the mating season for bears and they are probably looking for their own territory.

Authorities strongly advise that you do not approach a bear and stay indoors or in a safe place until it leaves. If a bear poses an immediate threat to you, call 911.
