According to police, the owner was surprised to learn the car was stolen and abandoned

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WSMV) – Officials are investigating after officers with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office found an abandoned stolen car on the road, according to Smokey Barn News.

On Monday evening, officers discovered a 2017 Mazda CX5 involved in a collision at 5740 Highway 76 East. When officers searched the car, no one was in sight.

Springfield police contacted the registered owner of the car. Smokey Barn News said the owner was surprised to learn it had been stolen from her home.
