DPD releases video of police shooting that led to arrest of double murder suspect – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The manhunt continues for one of the four occupants of a stolen truck accused of ramming police cars in Dallas, leading to a police-involved shootout on Thursday in which police eventually arrested a man suspected of a double murder.

Deantae Moore, 19, is one of three men arrested in the incident.

Moore had an arrest warrant out for two counts of capital crime in connection with the shooting of two 18-year-old men in a Dallas supermarket in March 2024.

Dallas police announced Friday that Police Chief Eddie Garcia will hold a press conference Monday afternoon where he will release new information and bodycam video of the police shooting Thursday afternoon.

NBC 5 obtained surveillance video from neighbors of an apartment complex on Golf Lakes Trail that captured the violent altercation.

“About four or five police officers shot at the suspects,” local resident Michelle Gonzalez said Thursday.

According to DPD, undercover investigators were on site and received information via flock cameras about a stolen red truck in the area.

The camera data led them to the complex’s parking lot, where officers spotted an occupied truck.

Garcia said as marked units surrounded the truck, the driver stepped on the gas and rammed two marked patrol cars.

According to DPD, four people tried to escape inside.

“At one point, officers fired at an armed suspect,” Garcia said. “We then recovered a firearm near the area where the shooting occurred. The suspect continued to flee north and was eventually apprehended and taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.”

Police identified the injured suspect on Friday as 17-year-old Eric Lampkin-Scarborough.

He is charged with illegal possession of weapons and escaping from custody on foot.

Damon Price, 21, is in jail charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated assault on an officer, fleeing on foot and violating probation for manufacturing or delivering a substance.

Moore is also in jail on $1,500 bail on an outstanding warrant for failure to identify himself.
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, bail has not yet been set for the felony charge.

A fourth suspect, believed to be armed, is still at large. Police did not have a description of the suspect on Friday.

At the chaotic crime scene, detectives seized three firearms.

No officers were injured.
