1 dead in house fire in south Houston, reports HFD

HOUSTON – One person died and another was injured in a fire in South Houston on Saturday, according to fire officials.

The Houston Fire Department said the fire happened in a neighborhood near 288 south of Airport Boulevard. Just before 6 p.m., they posted on social media that the fire was out. However, it is unclear when the fire started or what started it.

They said the injured person was taken to a nearby hospital. They did not provide any information about his condition.

HFD asked people to avoid the area due to emergency vehicle traffic.
