Buffalo Bills abandon practice field, visit 12 local schools

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Buffalo Bills left the practice field on Wednesday and split the team into groups to visit 12 schools in six districts across Western New York.

“Get out into the community, into the local schools, take their helmets off and let those students and student-athletes see them and make that connection,” head coach Sean McDermott said.

Each school was able to organize an activity of their choice, including games, parades and even a reptile show.

McDermott’s group visited Lackawanna High School, where students opened a student question and answer forum.

“Maybe someone, somewhere says, ‘Hey, I can do this. I can be like them,'” McDermott said.
