Newborn found dead in North Portland, investigation ongoing

PORTLAND, Oregon (KOIN) – An investigation is ongoing into the case of a newborn baby found dead in North Portland Friday morning.

Police responded to North Fenwick Avenue and Argyle Street around 11 a.m. after receiving reports that a dead toddler had been seen in the area, officials said.

The baby’s cause of death is unknown. According to the Portland Police Bureau, a medical examiner is scheduled to perform an autopsy this week.

The PPB child abuse team also arrived at the scene.
