Alto teenager arrested for alleged child exploitation

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a 17-year-old from Alto for aggravated stalking and child exploitation.

According to the office, Cornelia police asked the GBI on May 14 to investigate an allegation of child exploitation.

The GBI arrested godfather Diontae Carter on June 5 and booked him into the Habersham County Detention Center. Jail records show Carter was charged with two counts of aggravated stalking and sexual exploitation of a child.

According to official information, the investigation is still ongoing.

The GBI says all evidence and information collected will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for review and possible prosecution.
