Georgia electric company tells customers not to visit website after cybersecurity incident – WSB-TV Channel 2

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) has advised its customers not to use its website following a “cybersecurity incident.”

“We advise all Sawnee EMC members not to use the sawnee(.)com website for any purpose. In particular, do not attempt to log in or click on any link on the old website,” the company said in an emailed statement to members.

Since they lost control of their original website, they relaunched it at www.sawnee.coop.

Sawnee EMC said the cybersecurity incident affected its external website accessed by customers and not internal systems or data.
