Calls to police were released weeks before the deadly standoff in Surprise

SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — 911 calls made to Surprise police weeks before a SWAT team was dispatched to the scene of a man who first shot his baby and then took his own life last month were released Tuesday.

Police said they responded to previous calls regarding Todd Marchetti and his ex-wife Allie, the baby’s mother.

Recently released phone conversations from the weeks before the standoff show that her family had tried to warn of the danger.

In the phone calls, Allie’s parents talk about Marchetti’s threats to kill her, her baby Jaxson, and the entire family.

“My daughter lives with us with her six-month-old baby and he had something to do with my daughter and we are afraid that he will come to our house and shoot her and … this guy is crazy,” a woman can be heard saying in a phone call.

On one particular day, the family called the police and said Marchetti was coming. They called again an hour later when he showed up.

“He is very threatening. He is constantly threatening her with everything and if he shows up here, I don’t want him here. We are not going to open the door,” a family member told police. “His name is Todd Marchetti and I told Officer (unintelligible) he is on his way and is here now. Please send the police immediately.”

Allie’s mother also made several phone calls to inquire about the status of a restraining order she had filed against Marchetti.

Allie also called to file a report with the police.

Arizona’s family is trying to learn more about how Surprise police responded to those repeated calls that sadly predicted the violent May 17 confrontation.

As for seven-month-old Jaxson, his grandfather tells us that he has had several surgeries and some setbacks, but is slowly recovering.
