18-year-old British tourist ‘raped after meeting suspect in Ayia Napa nightclub and waking up in his bed’

A BRITISH tourist is said to have been raped by another tourist in Cyprus.

Police in Ayia Napa are investigating the allegations after the 18-year-old went to police after meeting the other British tourist in a nightclub.

According to court reports, the young woman stated that she believed she had been raped on July 3.

Police are examining video surveillance footage to establish a timeline of the incident.

The woman was examined by a forensic pathologist after she woke up in the bed of a 19-year-old tourist.

According to the investigation, the young woman had been with friends in various bars in Ayia Napa when the man, also from Englandwalked up to her and introduced himself.

The two then reportedly celebrated together in a nightclub before heading to the hotel where they stayed together.

According to the male tourist, the woman fell asleep fully clothed in his room in the early hours of the morning.

However, she claimed that she woke up at 5:30 a.m. and realized that she and he were equally naked.

In her statement, the woman claimed that she felt like someone was raping her while she was drunk and unable to react.

The man denied the allegations and cooperated with investigators.

He has been detained by Cypriot authorities for five days while investigations continue.

Previously, a 19-year-old British tourist was allegedly raped by an employee in a nightclub.

The woman was on holiday in Portugal when, according to her, she was attacked by a club employee in the back room of the dance club “Urban Beach”.

The unnamed employee claims that the sex was consensual.

The local police have launched an investigation and the club bosses are also looking into the incident.

Friends of the British teenager are said to have called the police at around 5 a.m. on Thursday morning.

The holidaymaker was then taken to the Sao Jose Hospital in Lisbon to be examined by a specialist.

A spokeswoman for the PJ police confirmed this morning: “We are investigating an alleged rape in a nightclub in Lisbon.”

A well-informed source said: “The alleged rape victim is a 19-year-old British woman who was apparently on holiday in Portugal.”

Paulo Damaso, the nightclub’s manager, told Portuguese news channel Correio da Manha: “We have already launched an internal investigation and as part of this investigation the employee in question will be questioned.

“He claims that the sexual relationship with the plaintiff was consensual.”

In May, a British tourist in Crete was allegedly raped by a soldier who lured her to a beach after meeting her in a bar.

Police have arrested the 21-year-old suspect as he faces trial before a military court on suspicion of sexual abuse.

The 26-year-old victim claimed she met the man at a local bar before he lured her to the beach, where he forced himself on her.

The suspect remains in custody in Hersonissos, but has filed a counterclaim and protested his innocence.

The infantryman, in turn, accused the victim of false accusations and slander.

Both were arrested and the Greek soldier was handed over to the military prosecutor’s office in Chania on the northwest coast of the island.

The British tourist is being examined by a coroner to determine whether a rape has taken place.

Previously, a British teenager had allegedly been sexually harassed in Mallorca because hydrocarbons had been mixed into her drink while on holiday.
