Barricade incident in north Baltimore ended in suicide – Baltimore Sun

Authorities responded to a barricade incident in North Baltimore on Saturday that ended in a suicide, according to a Baltimore Police spokesman.

According to police spokesman Freddie Talbert, BPD officers and a SWAT unit responded to a 911 call at 1:13 p.m. that an unidentified person fired a firearm from an apartment window in the 300 block of Homeland Southway.

The SWAT unit entered the building at 6:21 p.m. and found a man dead from “what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Talbert said via email. No one else was injured.

Talbert did not say whether the man police found and the man who allegedly fired shots from the apartment window were the same person.

The name of the deceased and other identifying details will not be released “out of respect for his family,” Talbert said.
