Three Maryland residents have been charged with stealing more than $2,000 worth of Legos from the Walmart in Upper Chichester.

Police said they were called to the superstore in the 600 block of Conchester Highway around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a shoplifting incident.

Employees reported to police that two white men stole more than $2,000 worth of Legos and drove away in a blue van driven by a white woman. The van had a ladder on the roof and a Virginia license plate.

The vehicle was last seen westbound on Conchester Highway, and police learned it was southbound on Route 1 in Concord.

The van was stopped by police in Kennett Square. The three, Susan Hooker, 48, and Joshua Sheets, 38, both of Baltimore, and David McDonald, 40, of Lothian, Maryland, were arrested.

All three were charged with shoplifting and criminal conspiracy. Hooker and McDonald were also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail for the trio was set at $100,000 by District Judge Diane Holefelder. Unable to make bail, they were taken to the Delaware County Jail, the George W. Hill Correctional Facility, to await a preliminary hearing on June 26.
