A man was arrested by Iranian security forces in Tehran

Amir Fa’al Iraqi, a 34-year-old resident of Tehran, was arrested by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence service. His current whereabouts are unknown.

According to a report obtained by the human rights organization Hengaw, IRGC intelligence forces raided Amir Fa’al Iraqi’s family home in Tehran early on Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was arrested and taken to an unknown location.

A source close to Fa’al Iraqi’s family reported that the IRGC intelligence service arrested him on charges of “propaganda against the government” in cyberspace and threatened the family not to support his arrest.

To date, there is no precise information about Amir Fa’al Iraqi’s whereabouts. His family’s efforts to obtain information have been unsuccessful.
