The mother of the rape-suspected former JDS MP from Karnataka, Prajwal Revanna33, who is accused in a case of kidnapping a victim of sexual assault, gained access to seven alleged victims of sexual assault to prevent them from filing a criminal complaint, a special investigation team of the Karnataka police told the state Supreme Court.

Prajwal’s mother Bhavani Revanna, 55, was identified by the SIT as the mastermind and main perpetrator of the abduction of a sexual assault victim during the hearing of her interim bail application in the HC on June 14.

The Supreme Court reserved the order of interim bail but extended the interim protection from arrest granted on June 7 by a week and asked Bhavani to cooperate in the investigation by appearing before the SIT.

On May 31, a special court for elected representatives had rejected Bhavani’s application for interim bail after finding prima facie evidence of her involvement in the abduction of a sexual assault victim in connection with the case against her son.

Special Public Prosecutor Ravi Varma Kumar told the bench of Judge Krishna S. Dixit: “Investigations have revealed that this woman is the mastermind of the kidnapping to prevent the victim from filing a complaint against her son.”
