IMPD: Pedestrian hit and killed on North Michigan Road

It happened just before 11 p.m. on North Michigan Road at Depauw Boulevard, south of Interstate 465.

An IMPD spokesman said two people were walking across Michigan Road when one of them was struck by a car. The victim was wearing dark clothing and was not seen by the driver until the crash, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. According to IMPD, no one else was injured.

The spokesperson told 13News that the driver of the vehicle underwent legally required drunk driving tests, but added that investigators do not believe driver impairment played a role in the accident.
