Buffalo police investigate shooting in University Heights

Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a man early Sunday in the University Heights neighborhood, Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge reported.

According to the report, a 24-year-old man was struck by gunfire during a large fight shortly after 3 a.m. near Main and Custer streets.

The victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, DeGeorge said.
