Commercial Township man convicted of sexual assault

A Commercial Township man was sentenced to 12 years in prison Friday for sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl, the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office said.

Marvin Stidham, 64, was found guilty of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child on January 25, but was acquitted of the charge of aggravated sexual assault.

Stidham must also register under Megan’s Law and be placed under lifelong parole supervision after his release, prosecutors said in a press release on Monday.

According to court records, Stidham had sexual contact with a 4-year-old girl in Commercial Township between June 1 and November 11, 2021. State police and the district attorney’s office are investigating.

Judge Cristen P. D’Arrigo presided over the case.
