NYPD releases photos of man wanted for raping 13-year-old girl in Queens park

On Monday, police released photos of the man they believe held a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint and raped her in Kissena Corridor Park in Queens.

The victim had just been playing soccer with a schoolmate of the same age in the park near the corner of Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue in Flushing at around 3:30 p.m. when the tattooed man approached them with a knife and demanded that they follow him into a dense wooded area off the beaten path.

When they refused, he pulled out a “large machete-like knife,” NYPD Criminal Investigation Chief Joseph Kenny said at a press conference on Friday.

There, the attacker tied the children’s wrists with a shoelace and abused one of the girls.

As he ran off with the two teenagers’ cell phones, he ordered the teenagers to sit still for twenty minutes.

Over the weekend, police searched the sprawling 600-acre park, setting up lights along the trail and patrolling the path on horseback, hanging sketches of the villain and his signature chest tattoo of a horned, red-eyed wild boar.

After the brutal attack, a $10,000 reward was offered for information leading to the madman’s arrest.

Police released images of the man pedaling a bicycle wearing a long-sleeved black T-shirt and black sweatpants with green, yellow and white markings.

Police describe him as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 5’5″ tall, with curly hair and braces. The children told police he spoke English with a strong Spanish accent.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be treated confidentially.
