One dead in fatal hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Franklin Township

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) – One person is dead and investigators are searching for a vehicle following a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle Monday evening in Franklin Township.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Brown Road and Frank Road.

A four-door Honda Civic turned from Frank Road onto Brown Road and drove in front of a 2002 Honda motorcycle traveling west on Frank Road. The motorcycle then struck the rear passenger side of the Honda, the sheriff’s office said.

The Civic then fled the scene of the accident and drove north on Brown Road without stopping, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:46 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said the Honda was a tan/gold colored early 2000s Civic LX with aftermarket wheels that looked like six-spoke wheels and a small spoiler on the trunk. Photos of the suspect vehicle can be seen below.
