Swimwear: Man attacked after spitting on swimwear, swimming pool charges | Ludhiana News

Times News NetworkLudhiana: Following an argument, a group of people brutally attacked a 23-year-old man working in a private swimming pool. Allegedly, the worker objected to the visitors wearing short swimwear, following which they started arguing with him over overcharging. The victim, Golu Kumar of Lohara village, sustained serious injuries. His colleague, who came to his aid, was also beaten up. Daba police have filed charges against the accused under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (willful causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (any member of an unlawful assembly guilty of an offence committed in prosecution of a common purpose) of the IPC. Golu Kumar said he works in a private swimming pool in Lohara village where Rs 150 is charged from each visitor. He said the swimming pool is used by both men and women. On June 13, he said that he had asked people not to wear short swimwear due to which some people started arguing with him. He said that when he closed the swimming pool at around 11.30 pm, 15 to 20 people came and again started arguing. After the verbal exchange, the accused attacked him with sharp weapons. When his colleague Kuldeep Singh came to his aid, the accused also beat him up. They then fled the scene while Kuldeep was taken to the hospital. ASI Sukhdev Singh, investigating officer of Daba police station, said that the police registered a case on Monday after recording the statements of the victim. Efforts are on to trace the accused.
