Sheriff: The child’s death suggested an accident

Richland Co., SC (WOLO) – An update Wednesday on the investigation into the death of a 3-year-old from Midlands.
In a press conference, Sheriff Leon Lott announced that Armani Shoemaker’s death was ruled an accident.
Last Friday, officials said they were at her home on Parliament Lake Dr. getting into a car and not being able to get out because the temperature in the car rose.

There have been nearly two dozen hot car deaths in South Carolina since 1998, according to DHEC.
