A gunman who was shot and killed Thursday after apparently threatening a motorist at a Henderson mall has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

He was Otis Watson, a 38-year-old Henderson resident.

The shooting was reported around 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Marks Street.

Citing preliminary investigations, Henderson police said Watson had a gun in his hand when he approached a vehicle “in a confrontational stance.”

A person in the vehicle shot at Watson, who returned fire as the vehicle drove away, police said.

Police said the shooting appeared to be a case of self-defense, but the investigation is still ongoing.
