Cruise ship employee arrested for possession of child pornography in Miami – NBC 6 South Florida

A 35-year-old cruise ship employee was arrested in Miami on Sunday for alleged possession of child pornography and videos depicting zoophilia.

On the morning of June 16, United States Customs and Border Protection agents were conducting their routine cabin search when they discovered several videos of suspected child sexual abuse on a cellphone belonging to Ferry Maryanto, according to a police report.

Authorities conducted an electronic media search on his device and found evidence of child sexual abuse material, the report said. Many of the children affected were between the ages of 2 and 10.

Although he was accused of possessing such material in ten cases, numerous other files were found on the defendant that were classified as child sexual abuse material, authorities said.

Among the videos found were reportedly videos showing inappropriate treatment of animals.

After his arrest, Maryanto was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade.

On Monday, he appeared in bail court before a judge who set bail at $2,500 for each charge.
