Teenager sexually assaulted by suspect with syringe – Winnipeg Free Press

A Winnipeg man is accused of forcing two young girls into a bedroom armed with a syringe and sexually abusing them.

The incident occurred in the St. John’s neighborhood around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police had already been dispatched to the area following another incident at around 5:20 p.m.

Winnipeg police said at a news conference Monday that a mother was in her yard with her two children when a man from across the street observed them. The mother felt unwell, took her children inside the house and locked the doors.

“When you’re a mother, you just know,” said WPS spokeswoman Const. Dani McKinnon.

According to police, the man tried to break into the house but was chased away by another person in the house. Police were called.

The man went to a nearby apartment building, where he allegedly entered a suite and confronted the two juvenile victims.

“They were forced into a bedroom where he threatened to kill them and physically and sexually abused them. The man became unconscious and the victims called 911 for help,” the WPS said in a new press release.

A suspect was arrested at the scene. The victims were taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Police said the same man was responsible for both incidents and did not know any of the victims.

Police said they were not disclosing the ages of the two teenagers.

“These individuals were extremely brave to come forward and speak to police. This is a very heinous incident,” McKinnon said.

Alfred Colin Muskego, 49, was charged with two counts each of sexual assault, assault and threats, as well as one count each of sexual harassment, solicitation of sexual contact, breaking and entering for the purpose of sexual assault and breaking and entering.

Muskego, who was known to police, was taken into custody.
