Armed gas station robbery in Burlington under investigation

An armed robbery early Wednesday morning at a gas station in Burlington, Massachusetts, is under investigation, Police Chief Thomas P. Browne said. Around 3:30 a.m., Burlington police were called to Mobil Gas at 173 Bedford St., Route 62 just off Route 3, for a report of a robbery at gunpoint. Responding officers spoke with employees who said a man wearing a mask and gloves came into the store, brandishing what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun and demanding money. After demanding money, the man left and was last seen walking east on Bedford Street toward Route 3. Burlington police searched the area with the help of the Billerica K-9 Unit but did not find the man. He stole about $400, police said. The man is described as being around 1.70 meters tall. No injuries were reported.
