Police are looking for suspects after sexual assault on Leander’s trail

LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — Police said they are asking for help finding a suspect who allegedly bicycle attacked and sexually assaulted a girl who was riding a Leander trail.

Leander Police said this happened on Tuesday Sometime between 4 and 4:26 p.m. along the wooded path behind Benbrook Ranch Park, located at 1100 Halsey Drive. However, officers were unable to locate the suspect after an extensive search of the area.


Investigators described the suspect as a white male who is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has brown breasts or close-cropped hair. They also said he had stubble on his face and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with blue jeans and gray shoes.

Police said they have increased patrols near the park, adding that they are also working with the city’s parks and recreation department to increase staff visibility.

Officials are asking neighbors to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings when visiting local parks. They should also report any suspicious activity immediately, police said.

Police said they are still urging people to take precautions even though they believe it is an isolated incident.
