The police investigation into the shooting of several people in Lathrup Village, reported early Saturday morning, is ongoing.

Lathrup Village police said evidence was being reviewed as investigators worked on the case. Six young people were shot; four suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and two were seriously injured, police said. They are expected to survive, but “there will be a long road to recovery ahead,” police said.

The shooting occurred in the 17000 block of Margate Avenue. Police arrived at approximately 12:20 a.m. on June 15 to find several people suffering from gunshot wounds. Southfield police assisted Lathrup police at the scene.

Anyone with additional information about the shooting is asked to contact Lt. Michael Zang at [email protected] or Criminal Investigation at 248-663-1631.
