Hopkinsville man charged in shooting | NewsRadio 1230 AM/99.3 FM | Hopkinsville’s News Leader

A Hopkinsville man faces reckless endangerment charges after he allegedly fired a gun at the American Inn on North Main Street on Friday.

According to the Hopkinsville Police report, officers responded to reports of shots fired and heard three gunshots coming from the American Inn while on scene on Hilltop Street. Outside the window of Room 105, officers discovered several shell casings and bullet holes in the fence.

Contact was made with the room’s occupant, 66-year-old Thomas Quick of Hopkinsville, who allegedly told police he fired out the window to see if his gun worked.

A search of the room reportedly revealed two weapons. Quick told officers that he had been drinking and was suffering from mental health problems.

He was arrested and charged with first degree reckless endangerment.
