Woman dies in collision with broken-down vehicle in Camden County: Police

Their SUV overturned after striking the side of a vehicle parked on the shoulder, authorities said.



WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ — A woman was killed on the Atlantic City Expressway Sunday evening when her SUV struck a broken-down vehicle and rolled over, officials said.

Police arrived in Winslow Township at 10:32 p.m. A Nissan SUV was traveling westbound and struck a broken-down and unoccupied Honda car on the right shoulder of the road, said Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron of the state police.

The Nissan rolled over and the driver – Ashley Pitts – was ejected, Lebron said. Pitts, 37, of Camden, suffered fatal injuries.

The accident is still being investigated and the police had no further information.
