2 men wanted for burglary by distraction: Philadelphia police

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia police are asking for help in identifying a burglary suspect.

The break-in occurred around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2900 block of South Juniper Street, police said.

According to police, the suspect knocked on the victim’s door and claimed he was from a construction company and needed to check the rear deck on the instructions of the building inspector.

The victim let the suspect in and took him to the back deck, where they talked for about five to 10 minutes, police said.

A second suspect then entered the house, went into the second-floor bedroom and took various pieces of jewelry, police said.

No threats or violence were used against the complainant in this incident.

Both suspects left the area on foot and headed north along Juniper Street.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, 5’10” to 6’5″ tall, with a large build and weighing approximately 220 to 230 pounds. He has a light brown complexion, was wearing a dark colored baseball cap, a black shirt over a white shirt, and blue jeans.

The second suspect was described as a black male, age unknown, approximately 5’8″ to 6’5″ tall, of medium build. He was wearing a dark hat, black jacket, and blue jeans.
